چکیده
ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS The authors gratefully acknowledge many helpful comments and suggestions made on this guidance This document provides best practice guidance in the application of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to the design and assessment of ventilation and gas dispersion in gas turbine (GT) enclosures. The focus is from a safety perspective. Gas turbines located in spacious turbine halls are also considered briefly in this document. The technology may be relevant to similar process safety applications where dilution ventilation is the basis of safety against explosion hazards. The guidance draws attention to the key modelling issues that need to be addressed, and, where appropriate, provides recommended approaches. A checklist is also provided. The guidance is not intended as a guide for non CFD-users but to provide a code of best practice for experienced CFD users. The guidance has been produced with the assistance of substantial input from a number of CFD consultants and vendors active in this field of application. Their contribution is gratefully acknowledged, and detailed above.

Analysis of Chlorine Gas Incident Simulation and Dispersion Within a Complex and Populated Urban Area Via Computation Fluid Dynamics
In some instances, it is inevitable that large amounts of potentially hazardous chemicals like chlorine gas are stored and used in facilities in densely populated areas. In such cases, all safety issues must be carefully considered. To reach this goal, it is important to have accurate information concerning chlorine gas behaviors and how it is dispersed in dense urban areas. Furthermore, mainta...

Introduction: Methane is one of the most widely used gases in industries with a high flammability potential. This study aimed to evaluate the efficiency of ventilation systems installed on methane valve pits based on hazardous areas classification. Material and Methods: This study was implemented in a steel industry in Qom Province in 2019. The tools used in this study were a DELTA OHM pitot t...
متن کاملPerformance analysis a gas turbine cycle equipped with a double acting type stirling engine in a power generating unit
The aim of this study is to investigate the performance of a gas turbine cycle equipped with a Stirling engine from the thermodynamic point of view. In this system, part of the heat loss from the gas turbine is transmitted to a Stirling engine to generate more power. In the proposed system analysis, the governing equations of the hybrid cycle are modeled in MATLAB software and Schmidt and ideal...
متن کاملThermodynamic Analysis and Statistical Investigation of Effective Parameters for Gas Turbine Cycle using the Response Surface Methodology
In this paper, the statistical analyses are presented to study the thermal efficiency and power output of gas turbine (GT) power plants. For analyzing gas turbine operation and performance, a novel approach is developed utilizing the response surface methodology (RSM) which is based on the central composite design (CCD) method. An attempt is made to study the effect of some operational factors ...
متن کامل4E analysis and multi-objective optimization of gas turbine CCHP plant with variable ambient temperature
In this paper a gas turbine power plant including air preheater (recuperator), heat recovery steam generator and air cooler system was modeled. Eight parameters were selected as the design variables. Fast and elitist non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm (NSGA-II) was applied (to maximize the exergy efficiency and to minimize the total cost rate) for the mentioned cogeneration system. Th...
